(1/8/09) In December the Italian translation team held their initial training session. Missionary Ken Moeckl worked with the team on all of the processes and procedure needed for the translation and creation of a Fire Bible. The team is composed of experienced translators who are confident and competant. They have a sincere desire to complete the Italian Fire Bible in a timely manner. In addition pastors from the Italy Assemblies of God are serving as consultants and students from the ADI Bible School will be helping with elements of the project.
(1/8/09) Missionaires Delton Watts and Phil Combs recently returned from meetings in Brazil concerning the distribution of the Portuguese Fire Bible in Africa. It is hoped that a partnership between Casa Publicadora das Assembleias de Deus in Brazil and the Assemblies of God Bible Alliance will be able to make this Fire Bible available to all of the Portuguese-speaking regions of this great continent of Africa. In the spirit of synergy, Africa's Hope will also assist in this distribution effort tentatively scheduled for Spring 2009.
(1/8/09) The translation work on the Japanese Fire Bible got fully underway after the initial training in September 2008. The team,consisting of five translators and three editors, striving to do the best job possible. Six of the eight are pastors or church workers who hold other full-time ministry positions. This team needs your prayers. One team member has a sick daughter who has been in the hospital, and another team member has had to care for elderly parents. Please remember these difficult situations.
(1/8/09) Translation on the Armenian Fire Bible is now underway in Yerevan Armenia. The team was trained in fall 2008 and is working to complete the project in record time. This is a very diverse team composed of editors, pastors, a news anchor woman, etc. They are a caring, motivated group; passionate about the project; and confident this Fire Bible will have a lasting effect on the church for decades to come.
(1/8/09) The Thai Fire Bible is ready to go to press! After years of preparation and waiting for the Bible Society to complete their work on the Old Testament Scripture text, this project is finally completed. The dedication and launch for this project is scheduled for Fall 2009. Praise God with us for this milestone.
The Georgian language translation project for the people of the Republic of Georgia is stalled. The missionary managing editor has returned to the United States. At this time, there is no one to lead the project on the ground in Georgia and the political situation continues to be unstable.
Prayer Request:
Pray with us that the Lord will provide someone on the ground soon to lead this translation team. Pray too that He will protect the nation of Georgia from attacks, both spiritual and political.
The Czech Fire Bible language project for the people of the Czech Republic is moving foward. The editing is complete, and we are now working on formatting issues. The Czech language is very precise as to layout, and we are having difficulty matching the text to the space available.

Pray with us that God will help us to work through all of the formatting obstacles and that we would be able to take this project to the printer.
The Albanian Fire Bible language edition (complete Bible) for the people of Albania is moving forward. The team is assembled, the biblical text is secured, and the translation is starting this month.

Pray with us that the Lord will help the team develop a workable timetable for the completion of this project.
The Yoruba Fire Bible language translation project for the people of Nigeria is almost ready to send to the printer. The translation, editing and formatting are finished. We are now waiting for final approval on the Scripture text.
Prayer Request:
Pray with us that we will receive the final approval soon so we can proceed with printing. If we must make revisions, we will. We always want the finished Fire Bible project to be as perfect as we can possibly make it.
The Urdu Fire Bible language translation project for the people of Pakistan is moving foward. The team is assembled, the bibilical text is secured, and translation is underway. However there seems to be a hindrance to the team's progress. A team from Life Publishers will be going to re-train his team as soon as the political situation there stablizes enough to allow such travel.
Prayer Request:
Pray with us that the re-training of the translation team can be accomplished quickly and that the language project will begin to show consistent progress toward completion.
The Turkish Fire Bible language translation project for the people of Turkey is on track and moving along at a tremendous pace. Almost all of the books of the Bible have been translated, edited and formatted. We are estimating that we will be able to go to press by June of next year.
Prayer Request:
Pray with us for God's continuing favor with this language project and that there will be no problems as we near completion.
The Telugu Fire Bible language translation project for the people of Northern India is in need of a breakthrough from God. The team has disbanded and the work is at a standstill.
Prayer Request:
Pray with us that we will be able to rebuild the team and restart the work. Pray with us for the Christians in this region who suffer from persecution, rioting and violence.
At the present time the Pidgin English Fire Bible is on hold until the missionary who is the managing editor returns to the field from furlough.
The Lao Fire Bible language translation project for the people of Laos is moving forward. The team is assembled, the biblical text is secured, and the translation is underway. We anticipate that by the end of October, three or four books of the Bible will be completed.

Pray with us that consistent progress is maintained and that the biblical text will be released to us soon.
The Khmer Fire Bible language translation project for the people of Cambodia is moving forward. A translation team and manager have been retained, and translation is under way. The Book of Genesis should be completed shortly.
Prayer Request:
Pray with us that the Lord will help us solve problems related to the Khmer fonts and software and that these techincal issues will not delay the project.
The Hmong Fire Bible language translation project for the people of Southeast Asia is still in the formational stage. Research is being done on the project, translation team members are being chosen, and technical issues are being studied regarding which software/fonts to use.

Please pray that God will guide us as we make decisions and choose the members of the translation team.
The Hausa Fire Bible language project for the people of Nigeria is almost ready to send to the printer. The translation, editing and formatting are finished. We are now waiting for final approval on the Scripture text.
